Patience

We all have to be patient these days. Things are not the same for right now. It’s going to be a while until life starts shifting back towards normal. Patience can be hard to achieve at times. I found some Bible verses listed at dailyverses.net. I then found some strategies to practice.

The following Bible verse is very appropriate for many during this time. Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Proverbs 16:32, “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.”

Psalms 27:14, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the Lord!”

Ephesians, 4:2 “With all lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing one another in love….”

Romans, 8:25, “But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”

Romans, 12:12, “Rejoice in you hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Ryan Hart on ryanhart.org has a good idea. He suggests trying to come up with three strategies a week to help with practicing patience. One is to count to three and then smile. I do know smiling helps us feel better.

Rhett Power on inc.com has an article entitled: 4 Tips to Help You Be a More Patient Person

  1. Make Yourself Wait. Rhett suggests starting with small things
  2. Stop Doing Things That Aren’t Important
  3. Be Mindful of the Things That Make You Impatient
  4. Relax and Take Deep Breaths

Here is one if you can and need to: Leave the situation to take a short break

Prayer – Any of the previous big ones would do, but how about focusing on yourself and include patience. Praying big is good, but it can be overwhelming at times.
